We’re looking for an Energy Research Analyst and Partnership Coordinator to join our Energy Capital team at WMCA.
Energy Capital is delivering the West Midlands Regional Energy Strategy and shaping the region’s second Five Year Plan to reach net zero by 2041. You’ll play a key role in driving collaboration between local authorities, infrastructure providers, universities, innovators, and community groups, making sure every partner’s contribution adds up to meaningful, measurable change.
Please note that this role is being advertised as an 18-month fixed-term contract.
What you will be doing.
- Gather intelligence on partner activities, identify synergies, and enable joint working across sectors.
- Create data-led reports, briefings, and visualisations that support strategic planning and policy work.
- Share success stories, best practice, and build the region’s reputation in net zero innovation.
- Contribute to regional devolution asks and national policy recommendations to unlock the powers and funding we need to deliver.
- Coordinate networking sessions, build strong internal and external relationships, and communicate impactful narratives that bring data and strategy to life.
What’s Essential.
- Experience working in the Energy Sector or a related sector.
- Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to translate complex data into accessible insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confidence communicating across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to learn, adapt and collaborate across teams.
